rAMi KAdi “The clothes we wear are considered a mindset, and a way to deeply express and reveal one’s personality, out of the designs they’re wearing. one can free an exceptional, innate, and provocative side, and experience new expressive manners. Each and every one of us can be an artist, by only knowing how to act and be brave enough to express ourselves in our own way. nothing beats overcoming the demise and pouring it into artistic masterpieces that flow all over the body and embrace the soul.” These are the words of Lebanese/American designer rami Kadi who debuted (in a superb way) this couture season presenting his first fashion show in the refined salons of the Hotel Four Seasons George V in Paris. The show, inspired by the burning Man Festival which was held in the nevada desert this year, was opened by super model Coco rocha, famous for her distinctive and audacious walk on the runway. The collection was exceptionally good. Less focused on creating ballgowns, Kadi this time presented this strong, colourful and interesting short dresses that showed off his ability (and that of his more than 50 highly experienced female tailors) in recreating effects like the rainbow, fire and movement. Glitters, crystals, laser-cut glasses are part of the collection that features embroidered leggings, two-piece sets, lightweight gowns and half blazers as true protagonists, while the use of all the colours known to man has been masterfully accomplished. The accessories are interesting, consisting of headpieces designed by French atelier bruna Abreu which are special yet futuristic and whimsical, and the shoes by Poise design made in PVC and characterised by block heels.
