Sara Ferrero: We have a really international clientele from all around the world and from different age ranges depending on nationality. For instance, italian customers are more mature, while Chinese and Japanese customers are younger (35 to 40 years old) while those from the Middle East are really interesting. We have had many examples where mum and daughter or mum and son bought the same bag together. but generally, the Middle East customer is very young (25-30 years old). in italy and Europe, our customer is mostly a professional who desires a business bag that can fit his or her needs. And our iconic bags are the iside for women, for both genders the small leather goods like sunglass cases created in collaboration with Marc newson and for men’s business bags, the “24 ore” or the travel bags such as the “Portofino”. Simply Abu Dhabi: You have launched the #NoLogoMyLogo collection- why? Is it away to approach the “Millennials”or you are not interested in them? Sara Ferrero: We are not a brand that uses logos, but we play with graphics, so the #noLogoMyLogo collection and initiative is something that we found interesting and fun because it allows the customer to play with graphics and their name while creating their own unique pattern. We are in a world where customisation is key and everyone wants something customised, so #noLogoMyLogo is our answer to that. However, we didn’t create this with the intention of attracting the Millennials, but rather to allow our existing client to play with his imagination. SimplyAbuDhabi: Andwhat are the features, as a customer, to spot in a good quality bag? Sara Ferrero: Well, to spot a good quality bag, you have firstly to look at the construction of the bag (so its structure); secondly, its hardware (so zips, closures etc); thirdly, check the bags stitching to see if it is properly made or not; fourthly, the skin of the bag and if the bag is heavy or not and finally, the lining inside. Simply Abu Dhabi: And for you personally, what are the characteristics of the perfect women’s bag and the perfectmen’s bag? Sara Ferrero: For both, i look at the clean and interesting aesthetic, the pockets that can facilitate your life, its lightweightness and the shades of the skin that can enhance the bag’s preciousness. These are for me the key points that i look for in a bag.
