2 0 5 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I A n explorer yacht like no other, motor yacht roCK is the SUV of the seas. inspired by the durability of marble and Land rover, yet softened by the warmth of a tactile interior, 24mroCK—designed by dutch studio Vripack—is built for comfortable adventure. Launched (and sold to her current owner) at the 2018 Cannes boat Show where she made her international debut, roCK is defined by her voluminous open-plan layout and uninterrupted sight lines. She is the yachting world’s first pocket rocket. Vripack is a yacht design studio made strong through its extensive naval architecture and engineering experience. From the moment it opened its doors in 1961, Vripack’s approach to design has been governed by the playful interaction between form and function. With a portfolio that represents over 7,000 designs, Vripack has been able to evolve its processes to be as efficient and as effective as possible. Leveraging its design philosophy that is informed by a creative, holistic, and collaborative approach, Vripack partnered with Turkish yard Evadne and project managers Tufan and brothers to collaborate on roCK. in order to draw a radical new futureproof style, Vripack implemented the use of marble into the design. The combination between the masculinity of the stone and the feminine shapes of the yacht were spot on. in addition, the studio’s design team (combining design, naval architecture and engineering from day one) created the right tool set to make roCK a true Vripack explorer. The result is robust and spacious; roCK boasts 20 per cent more internal volume in square metres than any other comparable 24m yacht.
