T he idea for this editorial came to mind after having seen a pair of earrings by damiani called Fiori d’Arancio (orange flowers) which were made in diamonds and featured two mesmerising white pearls. So, the name of this creation made me think of oranges while its pearls reminded me of the almond which is a very particular ingredient in perfumery and not used that often. So, i researched the world of perfumery looking for fragrances where those two ingredients were the top notes. in this editorial, because the fragrances used are high perfumery, there is “no gender” for each one; you choose what you like the most and what suits your skin better. ALMond Sweet and romantic, the term “almond” is used in reference to both the tree and to its edible seeds. native to the Middle East and South Asia, the almond tree produces its seeds which are contained within an outer hull and a hard shell and are highly prized for their flavour and nutritional value. For the fragrance world, almonds are very rare and very sweet, but they can’t be base notes because they cover the entire scent with their very strong perfume. but once you put an almond perfume on the skin, the smell is incredibly sweet and chic. White musk immersed in salt water, wrapped inMediterranean pine balsam in the presence of a sea of white almond flowers.” So, this free-spirited fragrance has as its top notes anise, ozonic aldehydes and ginger, almond blossoms, white jasmine and salty heliotrope heart notes and base notes of tonka bean, white musk, patchouli. Soft and sensual like italian sweets, italian olfactory concept Profvmvmroma presents Confetto, a capricious and gentle fragrance that reminds us of a curl in the wind, candy floss, a black silk petticoat raised by the swirl of the merry-go-round. Fragrance notes include almond, anise, musk, amber and vanilla. Undoubtedly, one of the most famous fragrances with almond as an ingredient is Heliotrope by Etro. introduced in 1989 by the Milanese fashion house, Heliotrope soon became a classic of the perfumery world. notes of the fragrance are mayflower, heliotrope, almond and vanilla, reminding us of sweet and soft memories of italian cuisine and the Mediterranean sunrise.
