7 4 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I “The Blessed Leaf” is a unique Art Piece concept created by two friends & artists; Carl Gurdjian (PHG Art) and Farid Issa (Atelier Relief). The photograph was initially shot in 2017 in Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi and after four months of work with Atelier Relief designers; “The Blessed Leaf” saw the light in order to celebrate in 2018, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan; Ruler of Abu Dhabi and founding father of the United Arab Emirates. Atelier Relief’s objective was to create a three-dimensional piece, giving new depth, substance, and structure to this amazing photograph. It is the score from which the Atelier and the photographer create rhythm, play with movement and draw-up a new language. Volume brings the photograph to life. Carl Gurdjian (PHG Art) decided to limit the coming production of “The Blessed Leaf” to 7, in order to offer as a gift print #1 to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; and allowing the remaining 6 prints to be stay in the UAE; 1 in each Emirate. Carl has been a Photographer for nearly 20 years and started collaborating with Atelier Relief in 2016. His work has been showcased in Paris, London & Brussels. In three years Farid Issa & Atelier Relief have made over 200 pieces. Through creation, design and production, the Atelier assists photographers with its savoir-faire. Portraitist David Uzochukwu, Photographers Sophie Bramly, Serge Najjar and Karel Fonteyne (from Austria, France, Lebanon and Belgium respectively), are amongst the latest artists to have collaborated with the Atelier. Since its creation, Atelier Relief has become the world reference for the conception and production of sculpted images. Its approach to the image remains unique within the art market. Neither a gallery nor an industry for decoration, the Atelier is a space where the infinite possibilities of a picture are explored.
