COCKTAIL RINGS Sophisticated and precious, cocktail rings have always dazzled on women’s fingers, especially if they are really beautiful. Constant inspiration for jewellers around the world, cocktail rings have the power to show off your personality and your style. Worn alone or with other rings and jewels, cocktail rings are very often “the piece” of an outfit, drawing everyone’s attention to it. It has to sparkle but not overly so and yet it has to give that edge and attitude that no other ring can give. Cocktail rings are without doubt this Spring’s protagonists. Damiani presents, (which can be reproduced on request), its iconic “Twins” ring first introduced in 1996 when it won the Diamonds International Awards. Made of yellow gold, the ring’s shape recalls waves formed by a double face of 118 pure baguette-cut diamonds for a total of 8.3 carats. This ring’s peculiarity consists also in its “three-dimensionality”: diamonds are also embedded in the sides of the jewel, enhancing the precious wave effect. A classic and yet modern piece that stuns with its delightful preciousness. Cartier unveils its new fine jewellery collection Les Galaxies de Cartier. Presented in Paris at the Galerie de Minéralogie et de Géologie, the collection reimagines the world’s space and its relationship with the Earth in a precious and futuristic way. The collection’s ring is a futuristic one which has a shape of a rock full of quartz. Made of pink gold, moonstone, milky quartz and diamonds (a total of 1.97 carats), this ring is available in only 30 pieces worldwide in selected stores. Boucheron, meanwhile, looks at Nature with its Nara the Doe ring. Made in pink gold with 418 champagne round diamonds with a total of 7.30 carats, 79 round cut diamonds for 0.59 carat, one brown round diamond 0.14 carat, onyx (for the doe eyes and nose) with a total of 0.21 carat and two black marquise sapphires 0.47 carat, the ring stuns with its joyful and yet romantic spirit. Chanel entitled its latest High Jewellery collection 1 Camelia 5 Allures showing off their ability to create transformable pieces. Starting from the theme of the Camelia (Mademoiselle Chanel’s flower), they created pieces that could transform into five other different jewels, allowing a creation to have five allures. In this case, as a cocktail ring, they presented the Rose Tendre cocktail ring, a stunning piece in white gold, pink gold, carved pink quartz in the shape of a camellia, cultured pearls and diamonds. Although not transformable as a ring, it was the most breathtaking and delicate piece of the entire collection. Chopard entitles its latest High Jewellery collection “Magic Setting”, creating on the ground floor of their 1 Place Vendôme boutique a romantic setting of 10,000 fresh new pink roses that delighted the guests who came to see the new creations. The central pieces of the collection were the rings, magical, romantic and yet very comfortable to wear. What was so special was the fact that it was impossible by turning the ring around to see the setting of the stones, which intrigued everyone. As a cocktail ring, I suggest this 18-carat white gold ring set with rubies and featuring a central 1.7 carat diamond. A classic and timeless piece, stunning in its craftsmanship. Swiss jeweller Suzanne Syz, known for her contemporary appeal, presents the boldest piece during couture season. Made in gold, silver and enamel, this futuristic ring is set with a gorgeous Mozambique paraïba tourmaline of 8.60 cts. 8 8 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Cartier Chanel Boucheron
