With its vast open spaces, otherworldly sunsets, and sense of immeasurable freedom, the aptly named Wild West has always captured the human imagination. For jewellery designer Valérie Messika, the West has fuelled a desire to reconnect with the power of wild nature. With her latest collection, her love of the American west inspired her vision of modern jewellery, that is moving and free of all constraints. One that celebrates of the forces of nature through the use of the most precious materials found on our earth. In this new High Jewellery collection, the creations tame the materials and respond to their nature. Diamonds – “My queen of stones”, as Ms. Messika calls them – become talismans, and stack like a totem. “With Born to be Wild, I wanted to instil a state of mind that alludes to a feeling of escape.
