1 3 5 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I The Serpent Bohème Collection In 1968, an exquisite creature came out of the Boucheron workshop: Serpent Bohème, a mesmerising jeweller’s dance. With its head evoked by a subtle droplet shape and its chiselled body rippling under its golden scales, over the years this iconic serpent has come to stand out as a mesmeric classic in the Maison’s repertoire and a majestic demonstration of the craftsmanship of Boucheron’s jewellers. The motif has evolved over the years, at times exchanging, for example, its diamond paving for a new range of coloured stones – turquoise, lapis lazuli or white mother- of-pearl – but its spirit has remained unchanged. It has snaked its way from pendant to bracelet, from ear-jewel to ring, from watch to headband, always retaining the aura of mystery that surrounds women of character. To adopt this animal that symbolises infinity is to choose a special, vivid and protective talisman that knows how to encapsulate femininity. Serpent Bohème is first and foremost a subtle mix of materials worked with infinite virtuosity. In an exquisite ring crowned with gold beads, paved with diamonds or inset with a richly coloured gemstone, the serpent seems to almost come to life, thanks to theskill of the jeweller craftsmen who are able to animate the material to reveal soft, vibrant scales. A honeycomb structure of another ring allows the light to softly pass through the stones. The twisted chain is one of the Maison’s hallmark features, and here it’s more modern than ever. In white, pink or yellow gold, Serpent Bohème bracelets and pendants are paved with diamonds or inset with turquoise, lapis lazuli or white mother-of-pearl, while 24 individual Serpents Bohèmes comprise the yellow gold and diamonds headband. Two small yellow gold drops, paved with diamonds like two fabulous amulets, distinguish the earrings. And even the jewellery watch has adopted Serpent Bohème time, with a gold bracelet paved with diamonds or mother-of-pearl, or with a malachite or lapis lazuli dial. Like the Boucheron woman, Serpent Bohème has never been so free.
