1 4 8 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I G erd-Rüdiger Lang founded the Chronoswiss watch factory in Munich in 1983, with a worldwide distribution structure. Lang started on his horological path over 20 years earlier in 1958 when he joined the watchmaker’s metier at Jauns watch shop in his hometown of Braunschweig. In 1980, he attended the master school in Würzburg and graduated with the title of Master Watchmaker, and in the same year he was Official Timekeeper for Swiss Timing at the Moscow Olympic Games. In 1982, just before opening his first Manufacture, he introduced the world’s first mechanical chronograph with moon-phase display and mineral crystal back under the Chronoswiss name, which was ideal timing as it presaged the worldwide renaissance of mechanical timepieces.
