1 4 9 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I Chronoswiss came under newownership in 2012, with the Swiss entrepreneurial family Ebstein acquiring the assets from Gerd- Rüdiger Lang, who continues to support the company. Today, Chronoswiss is based in Lucerne and being among the pioneers of the renaissance of mechanical timepieces, Chronoswiss has only ever used mechanical movements. Visually, Chronoswiss watches are always recognisable by certain unmistakable design features, such as the characteristic onion-style crown, the semi-fluted bezel and the screw-in lugs. The new special edition Flying Regulator Night and Day is a stunning alliance of avant-garde design and traditional métiers d´arts, which become evident in the dial. Masterfully decorated with guilloche by hand, the wave-like pattern is crafted onto the dial using an ancient rose-engine lathe, and afterwards galvanized blue. The unusual and intricately designed day/night dome display at the 9 o’clock position is a particularly eye-catching element of this watch. It has been embedded in a half-dome and given a gleamingmetallic look with titanium. The Super-LumiNova coated stars on the night side glow in the dark and the luminous whitematerial on the hands and indexes also significantly helps to ensure optimum legibility at night. The day side is a lighter shade of blue and in total the dial design comprises a total of 19 parts. The new limited-edition focusses on the elegant combination of blue and silver, complimented by a stainless steel case. The limited-edition numbers of the 50 timepieces are meticulously painted by hand on the bottom of the day/night display. Alongside the latter, the Flying Regulator Night and Day also features a 3-day date display at the 3 o’clock position. At the 6 o’clock position, the dial reveals some intense insights. Here, Chronoswiss has artfully uncovered the seconds wheel, on which the funnel-shaped scale draws the gaze. The day/night display and date are easy to set using the crown. Aside from the limited edition, three further designs are available in the collection: elegant red gold combined with a matte black galvanized dial, or a sporty stainless steel case with a blue or silver dial.
