With the bespoke villa option, Selong Selo’s architectural partners can help potential owners to conceptualise and design their dream villa using all of their own unique design inspirations. This gives clients with the ultimate flexibility when it comes to choosing the size and layout of their villa. “The essence and overarching design concept was to blur the lines between inside and out, allowing owners and guests to enjoy the private space and natural surroundings,” says Mitchel Squires, architect for Villa 6e. “This organic outdoor feel is complemented by the abundance of fragrant tropical plants, which adds harmonious flashes of colour to the carefully landscaped gardens.” The Selong Selo Interior Collections include furniture, art, accessories and operating equipment that complement the nature of the villa’s architecture, materials and landscape. True to the project’s commitment to sustainability, the designers are working alongside reputable local furniture makers and artisans to create the interior collections which embody both modern design with traditional ornamentation. The Selong Selo Interior Collections are extensive and tailored to suit each villa based on the owner’s selected interior scheme and colour way. The designers capture every fine detail and provide a design package that includes handcrafted furniture, unique accessories, custom artworks, and stylish linens. In addition, Selong Selo’s commitment to sustainability and a ‘green future’ goes far beyond typical statements and green marketing, having just announced that Selo has now entered into an integrated (energy and water) Micro-Grid (iMG) contract with Singapore Firm IDPM.COM PTE. LTD. IDPMwill design, build, own and operate the iMG for Selong Selo where all energy, water and waste will be produced, used and managed onsite. Solar is now the cheapest and cleanest form of renewable energy and will play a big part in the project. As part of the iMG Selo is planning to develop an on-grid solar power plant of 2.5MW+. Other forms of renewable energy that will be used onsite include micro-hydro, biomass gasification and the Negawatt; this is the cheapest form of renewable energy and Selong Selo’s iMG will use the latest in self-learning algorithms to adaptively produce, consume, manage and distribute energy and water where it is needed and in tune with the local climate and the guests’ behaviour. With a prime location in Indonesia’s coveted hills, Selong Selo’s commitment to solar power, soil improvements, erosion control and soil stabilisation only goes to further and strengthen the brand’s focus on sustainable luxury.
