Both a new construction project and a yacht built on spec, the six-decked vessel is a show of strength for the relatively young company. At 84m it is also its largest project to date. Sporting exterior design by rock star designer Tim Heywood and for sale through Burgess for a cool €89.5 million, the ICON 280 is a brave development. Offering full flexibility to the owner with a customisable interior, it boasts the largest internal space on any 84m yacht. The trick is the addition of a full-length engine room deck, which sits below the waterline and provides ample room to house the engine room, vast storage areas and a crew gym. Best of all, the ICON 280 offers a rapid delivery time, available in as little as 26months from the point of signing. Put into perspective, no other yard in the world can provide a yacht of this size in that timeframe. Generous crew quarters are located on the lower deck, adjacent to five enormous guest cabins – again the biggest of their kind on any comparable-sized yacht – and a central corridor directly connects the guest cabins to an expansive beach club aft, ICON’s signature design feature. For guests arriving by tender or bathing at sea-level, the easy-access layout could not make life more convenient, and there’s even room enough for a luxurious spa and state-of-the-art cinema, too.
