BALLY WOMEN Au t umn/Wi n t e r 2019 JOURNEY TO SWITZERLAND For Autumn/Winter 2019, Bally looks to its pioneering Swiss history with a contemporary collection that references its mountain lifestyle. The collection, Peak Outlook, illustrates Bally’s celebration of Swiss heritage and the mountains. The Mountain Peak motif is central. Taken from a 1955 Bally logo, in this collection, it becomes a zigzag shoe welt and appears graphically across ready- to-wear and accessories. A vintage 1930s expedition map is restored in silk jacquard and ink-printed leather. Hiking boots are inspired by Bally’s 1930s and 40s archive. THE MOOD Colour leads the collection, drawing inspiration from the portrait work of Norwegian photographer, Jarle Hagen. Bally’s Creative Collective interprets the influence by recalling the sporty outdoor lifestyle of the 90s and memories of winter weekend escapes with friends. The evocation of a shared journey, both literally and symbolically, connects Bally’s strong emotional tie to Switzerland. Swiss hearts adorn ready-to-wear and accessories in a gentle ode to the mountains. THE BALLY WOMAN Composed yet not afraid to be bold, the Bally woman has a relaxed yet chic approach to getting dressed. Her sense of adventure complements her romantic outlook, and this is all reflected in the wardrobe for Autumn/Winter 2019. SHOES Of course, Bally is renowned worldwide for its impeccable and timeless shoes. True to that legacy, as well as the outdoor spirit, hiking boots are the core message in the collection. The Hady presents a fashion-forward take on the traditional hiking boot (inspired by a 1943 archive model), while the Hanni reflects a 1930s hiking style with crochet laces, at home on city streets or groomed mountain trails. The hybrid Biasa sneaker boot with neoprene sock and eyelets make for a stylish yet practical message. An evening pump with prominent Mountain Peak tongue detail adds a feminine slant, inspired by a 1937 Bally shoe. BAGS The new Harryet bag, available in two sizes, introduces a softer supple form at Bally, borrowing Cecyle’s half-moon shape in a unique top handle with cross-body conversion. Seasonal novelties include mini Swiss hearts and croco-stamp leather. Cecyle continues to evolve with Mountain Peak mini-studs design and a diamond-quilted pattern with fringe. READY TO WEAR Chunky knit cardigans and scarves are scattered with nostalgic Swiss motifs. An embroidered mountain jumpsuit is wrapped in a shearling coat with a bold zigzag pattern. Delicate edelweiss flower lace skirts are worn under winter coats and thick jumpers, while an architectural leather cape is softened by shearling cuffs. This is a collection for the woman who is at home in whatever environment she explores.
