Featuring a beammeasuring 16.3m and capable of achieving a top speed of 17.5kn, at first glance she may simply appear as another of the Dutch yard’s elegant custom deliveries. However, 109m Bravo Eugenia represents a new direction for Oceanco – the LIFEDesign – which takes its acronym from the words Lengthened, Innovative, Fuel-efficient and Eco- friendly. Bravo Eugenia has a single-tiered engine room that allows for an optimised long and slender hull shape, resulting in a reduction in overall propulsion power demand. Furthermore, the hull form affords enhanced space for guest accommodations. With naval architecture and engineering by Lateral Naval Architects, exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and interior by Reymond Langton Design, Bravo Eugenia is a force of design ingenuity, which takes its lead from the LIFE concept. The LIFE design centres around naval architecture which “creates a harmonious balance between weight, power, technical areas and luxury interior”. This theory was proven during an intensive period of winter sea trials in the North Sea, where the vessel both met and exceeded performance expectations and predictions, says James Roy, Managing Director of Lateral Naval Architects. “The excellent sea keeping and performance demonstrated during Bravo’s sea trials confirmed that the LIFE Design qualities are indeed embedded in Bravo’s DNA”, he said. “Coupled with her hybrid propulsion system, Bravo delivers exceptional performance and is configured to offer multiple operational modes, each matched to the variable operating profile of a yacht designed to adventure autonomously across the world’s oceans.” Referencing Bravo Eugenia’s elegant interior, which was designed by renowned studio Reymond Langton Design, Mr Roy commented: “The LIFE Design’s use of advanced hybrid propulsion incorporating significant battery capability, combined with a single-tier engine room allows novel use of space to deliver areas of outstanding luxury accommodation.” Anew direction De l i ve r ed t o he r owne r s i n Decembe r 2018 , Br a vo Eugen i a i s t he f i r s t o f a new br eed o f Oceanco supe r y ach t s . by Julia Zaltzman
