I’m horizontal, arms spread wide in a flying position, stomach tensed… I haven’t done this since I was about five years old. I’m trusting the two wide, brown feet holding me aloft to prevent a painful demonstration of gravity at work. This is my first time doing acro-yoga... my personal yogi at Samujana has already helped me with a niggling knee injury and now we’re doing balancing acts. My serene and smiley teacher transformed his life with yoga after a crippling back condition and now he takes enormous pleasure helping the guests and residents of Samujana. I feel energised and uplifted after the class and cool off in the seductive infinity pool of Villa One, perhaps the most impressive in the 27-villa estate of Samujana. The surface of crystalline water melts into the Gulf of Thailand and a stretch of pale sand looks to be a secluded beach surrounded by lush jungle. This is Koh Samui, neighbouring island to little sisters Koh Tao and Koh Phangan.
