Simply Abu Dhabi XXXVI

2 6 1 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I I’d like to stay longer. Like, forever. But the visit has to end and speaking with John Kinder again, I ask him how the sense of community here developed, and what other factors make Samujana a dream investment for potential buyers. John replies, “Samujana was many years in the making – 11 years between the completion of the first and the 27th villa. It is a unique place partly because it was never a conventional development, but one designed by and with friends in mind, and controlled by its owners. These are second homes for international and connected owners, but at its heart it is a community.” Considering what might be coming next in the ongoing journey of Samujana, John says, “We’re always looking for ways to enhance the estate to increase and enhance the experience for owners as well as rental guests. We’re currently looking at the potential to add a wellness retreat adjacent to the estate, as well as adding more facilities at the waterfront and beach area.” I hope to visit another time in the near future… the spectacular view of the coral bay from Villa One, with Koh Mat Lang island and the hills of Chaweng Noi in the background, is a vista that demands to be seen again. John concludes, “It’s a view whose colours constantly change with the weather and the time of day. It’s impossible to tire of this view, and it gives a constant backdrop to everything you do, whether it’s swimming in the pool, having lunch or a drink, or just reading a book.” Samujana is located just 10-15 minutes from the tiny yet surprisingly well appointed Koh Samui International Airport. The island is easily reached with direct flights from Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur as well as Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket.
