This edition of Simply Abu Dhabi was originally scheduled for March, which now seems like another era. The issue, highlighting some of the world’s most fascinating and influential people, marks our ten-year anniversary - a milestone certainly worth celebrating. But in light of the global circumstance, I felt these personal words, from my heart, would be more fitting. I don’t even know where to begin? What a bizarre year 2020 has been! The world is no longer how it used to be, But there remains hope for you and me, We find ourselves uniting as one, Fighting an enemy visible to none. We now look to one another, instead of looking past each other... And the value of love has finally risen above. Our mandatory isolation, a necessary desperation Physical confinement has led to mental refinement More than ever our eyes glued to our phones More than ever we feel all alone Retail disruption to a digital eruption. A race for a cure, til then we’re unsure This year really has seen the strangest of ‘daze’ I sincerely hope we can escape this Covid maze. I remain faithful to our hope and to our dreams So we can live life as it should seem. Until then and thereafter I say Live your life to the fullest, But Avoid self condemnation via moderation, And life will be far from the dullest love unconditionally, Be kind, be good and be real.
