Dolce and Gabbana were inspired by the beautiful surroundings of the Parco dei Principi Hotel in Sorrento and worked with its owners in designing the collection. The aim was to incorporate nods to Gio Ponti’s architecture and the gorgeous blue and white tiles that distinguish the hotel’s interiors, as well as the sculptures printed on the shirting. Indeed, the collection appears casual and carefree but the approach to construction, tailoring, and inspiration are quite no- nonsense. “These are not simple clothes— they’re complicated!” Stefano Gabbana has stated.
