S uperbly crafted in Italy, the new Versace Home Textiles & Accessories collection takes the brand’s most recognizable designs and reinterprets them as a range of luxury bedroom, bathroom and living room accessories. The first pieces in what would become the Versace Home Collection – textiles and porcelain dinnerware – were initially launched by late founder Gianni Versace in 1992, inspired by his love for the arts, from theatre and dance, to sculpture and painting. Since then, under the guidance of siblings Donatella and Santo, the design house has become a major lifestyle brand, with distinctive style codes and motifs, and a dedication to Made in Italy excellence. For 2021, the mythical Medusa permeates the new collection. The House’s eternal muse is instantly identifiable with the Versace brand and forms one of the most famous luxury logos in the world. As the story goes, the young Versace children played in the ancient ruins near their family home in Reggio Calabria, Italy, where a tile mosaic of Medusa adorned the grounds. Young Gianni was said to have chosen her for the logo because she was known in mythology for making people fall in love with her – and he wanted people to feel the same way about his designs.
