Simply Abu Dhabi IV

81 SIMPLY ABU DHABI SIMPLY FORMULA ONE AND THEY ’ RE OFF ! In keeping with the charm of Arabic spirit, it was in a luxurious atmosphere amongst celebrities and Formula 1 fanatics that we were treated to the most extraordinarily pleasurable weekend of adrenalin-soaked action and lavish parties at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix inNovember. Yas Marina’s circuit is an incredible construction and its electricity works around the clock making it highly efficient so the marina is the ideal location to come and appreciate the racer’s art and we were on cloud nine to be right at the heart of the action. Our VIP Grand Prix weekend got underway in fabulous style at the third annual Chequered Flag Ball in Abu Dhabi on Friday 11 November at the St Regis on the breathtaking Saadiyat Island. Having heard it’s the only way to start your Grand Prix weekend; we weren’t disappointed and genuinely felt like celebrities as we walked past the gathered paparazzi down the red carpet. Amongst celebrity guests all elegantly attired in black tie and exquisite ball gowns, our already huge anticipation of the thrilling weekend ahead of us picked up a gear. Setting the pace for the action that was about to unfold down on the track over the weekend amidst the celebrity glitterati, we indulged in life in the fast lane as we were treated to star studded entertainment. A fabulous sparkling champagne reception got the evening off to an incredible start in our stunning location overlooking the shores of the Arabian Gulf. A four course gourmet menu was truly divine and whetted our appetites for an awesome evening of glittering entertainment. Award winning artist Mica Paris was headlining the Ball much to our excitement. As one of the UK’s most respected female singers with a career full of top ten hit singles and albums worldwide her beautiful performance lived up to all our expectations. Ahead of her appearance she had said; “Guests can look forward to a uniquely intimate atmosphere, making for an incomparable evening of star-studded entertainment.” We certainly enjoyed just that. The former owner of Formula 1 team Jordan Racing also demonstrated his passion for rock ‘n’ roll as he took to the stage with his four piece band – Eddie and the Robbers – providing yet more entertainment before the big race action. After a perfect evening dining and being entertained with some very high profile guests, we couldn’t wait to get down to the track over the weekend.
