Who is Brics Mortimer Silk, how did the name come about? What sets Brics Mortimer Silk apart? I love travel, real estate, Art and reading. My daily routine starts 5am, a walk with my Frenchie, Timothy, read or paint for an hour then it’s time to speak with my Middle eastern and Chinese brokers that’s the start to my day. I am passionate about all things within the real estate industry and customer service, Architecture, interior design, the journey from meeting a client understanding their requirements, sourcing to matching the right property, negotiating and closing. All of it! Having worked for British Airways as cabin crew for 20yrs looking after royalty, celebrities, uhnwi's going on to work in prime Real estate for award winning developers was a natural progression for me, its a very satisfying feeling when you go the extra mile and have satisfied clients. It is important to be outgoing and confident, to enjoy conversations with people of all nationalities finding out what they do, what drives them to do what they do, their story. At the moment I’m learning Mandarin which is said to be quite di cult, however I believe if you enjoy something the di culty is less daunting being tenacious is a large part of my personality too, in this industry its a prerequisite if you want to succeed. The combination of building long standing relationships and providing a high quality service is the driving force completing on a deal with the client satisfied is why I do what I do, sourcing the right property, negotiating and acquiring on the behalf of my clients is extremely fulfilling. Brics Mortimer Silk was established in the summer of 2019, we are a property finding service for uhnwi’s, celebrities, time constrained individuals and anyone that requires a certain level of privacy when selling or buying real estate. We source on and o the market for investment properties and homes, whether it be an entire floor plate of an apartment building, a penthouse, mansion or an apartment close to the top universities in the UK for our overseas clients children, Villas, apartments or hotel residential apartments in Dubai also. UK and Dubai are the typical real estate requests, recent years there has been a growing demand to source in Canada and Vietnam. So we have a team that covers those areas. The inception was from having a client reach out on behalf of a friend of theirs, going through a challenging acquisition who required a high level of privacy, I was instructed and successfully navigat- ed the issues, resolving them and completing, I knew then, that there was something missing in the industry, a more personalised approach. BRICS was a deliberate choice, we wanted to show not only do we understand real estate but the economy, noticing a group of countries that would eventually stand independently from the USD and dominate, essentially a ecting the future of the Real estate Industry. The impact, possibly making it more expensive for foreign investors to buy Real estate in the US or other countries that use the USD as the reserve currency and how we e ectively manage change and communicate this to our clients. MORTIMER is a play on the word mortar, SILK has several meanings , the apt one being (the Queens legal learned council), Senior counsel, if you will, which is e ectively what we set out to be, in the Real estate world for our clients, learned in our field. Quite simply our relationship with clients, we aim to be direct, e ective and save our clients valuable time, this is achieved by asking the right questions, listening and understanding, each client has a dedicated broker who walks through the process to completion and thereafter for any interior design requirements or property management services we provide from our after care team. It is very much a personal Real estate buying service. We do not stop, BMS is a lifestyle, it’s a service industry, we must be dependable, that means available 24/7. Is there such a thing as a perfect client or situation? What is the profile of a perfect client or situation? What are your top 3 Destinations and current book? How would your family & friends describe you ? I believe we are all perfect in our imperfections! So yes! imperfections are sometimes more valuable than perfections. It is rare to come across a perfect situation so we tend to embrace both. The smooth transitions and the longer more complex one’s. In the time BMS has been serving our clients , one occasion comes to mind where it was what you would call a perfect situation, a two hour intro meeting with a particular client and their interpreter resulted in a few calls pushing for a same day viewing, which was attained for a prime London property, negotiating and closing that same day was definitely high octane and essentially perfect, the client was extremely happy. Yet this deal was an exception to the norm. Having worked in the airline industry, we are taught to analyse a situation/client within a certain time frame, have transferred those skills into how does a client communicate with us, what is their preferred communication, how does their tone change when talking about their requirements, what do they do, who are they and in a couple who is the decision maker, there is always one who essentially has the final say, if you will, both being very important but in di erent aspects. This is very much about understanding your clients and understanding the property that you are instructed on, so you can love match the two which results in time saved for your client.
