Simply AbuDhabi: Tom, thanks for speaking with us. How are you feeling being here in Rome for the world premiere of ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’? TOM CRUISE: Amazing. It’s amazing. It’s so much fun being here. To be in Rome, to be opening this film is very special. What can audiences expect from this movie? TOM CRUISE: One thing about me is, when I make a movie, everything that I’ve learned over all the decades of filmmaking, I put into the next movie. So when you see ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’, it’s the sum of everything we’ve done over the years. And I really do encourage people to see it on a big screen because the sound, the colours, the immersive experience and communal and community experience is there for everyone. How was it to film in all these stunning international locations? TOM CRUISE: I’m very grateful to have had that experience, to have had the communities where we filmed say, ‘We will support you’ in making what we wanted to do. Because I make movies for the big screen. That is what I do. I understand that there’s other areas and other platforms. I understand that. I’ve studied everything up, down and centre from making movies to studios to distribution - and I understand that. I make movies for audiences, first and foremost. And to be able to have that kind of help, and believe me, every day I was dealing with and working with the communities – the governments and people in my crew – to make it so that we could all have this and be here today. And it would not have happened if it had not been for Rome, had it not been for Venice, Norway, Abu Dhabi – everyone and the whole industry to be able to support it made this happen. So this is a very exciting moment. 106 | Simply Abu Dhabi
