In addition to his environmental and architectural interests, King Charles has been a patron of the arts and culture. He has supported numerous cultural institutions, including museums, theatres, and arts education programs, recognizing the importance of the arts in fostering creativity, expression, and social cohesion. Throughout his life, King Charles has balanced his public duties with a strong sense of family and personal fulfilment. He has been a devoted husband to his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and a loving father to his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, as well as a doting grandfather to his grandchildren. Upon the passing of his beloved mother Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, the long-serving Prince became King Charles III. One of the most powerful celebrations around his coronation in May of 2024 spoke volumes about His Majesty’s impact and legacy, and how deeply rooted his messages have become with the British public. The week of the coronation marked the launch of the Big Help Out initiative, a movement to inspire community-based volunteering. More than 7 million people joined forces that week to dedicate their time and resources to helping others – a truly moving tribute to the kind of man their new king is. King Charles remarked: “It was a source of great pride to my whole family that, thanks to all those millions who took part, The Coronation became a moment not just to celebrate continuity and nationhood, but also the values that we have long held dear: kindness, compassion and service to others.” As a leader, His Majesty brings with him a wealth of experience, wisdom, and dedication to the service of his country and its people. His reign will be characterized by a continued commitment to the principles of duty, compassion, and social responsibility that have defined his life thus far. Simply Abu Dhabi | 123
