The heart of this incredible three-dimensional dial is composed of three separate layers and relies on a sophisticated underlying structure. The lower white gold base, which is invisibly set with trapezoid-cut white diamonds, has narrow channels separating the diamonds. Harry Winston’s gem- setters have inserted an elaborate yellow gold structure fitted with rounded prongs to secure the gemstones that scintillate on the upper decks. Alternating white and yellow trapezoid, brilliant and square- cut diamonds of varied sizes, the scenery is reminiscent of an icy wintry landscape warmed by golden beams of sunshine. By selecting the finest quality yellow diamonds and staging them in the limelight, the desired play of colour between the fancy light yellow and fancy intense yellow diamonds is achieved.
