Can you tell us about your journey into the hospitality industry and what led you to Kempinski Palm Jumeirah? My career in hospitality began more than 20 years ago, with a foundation in finance that allowed me to approach the industry with strong business acumen. Early roles, such as working as a financial accountant and progressing through various finance positions in Egypt and Dubai, honed my ability to handle complex challenges effectively. I joined Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah in 2011 during its pre- opening phase as the Director of Finance, overseeing the financial framework for this iconic resort. I also contributed to the pre-opening of the Emerald Palace. After an enriching experience, I transitioned to the Paramount Hotel Dubai in 2019 to lead its financial operations as Executive Director of Finance during its pre-opening phase. In 2020, I returned to Kempinski Palm Jumeirah as General Manager, driven by the opportunity to lead this prestigious property into a transformative new decade. Among my proudest achievements are navigating the post-pandemic landscape, celebrating the resort’s 10th anniversary, and reimagining the guest experience for future generations. What is your approach to leading a luxury property, and how do you motivate your team? Leadership in luxury hospitality revolves around empowerment, clear communication, and a commitment to excellence. By focusing on operational efficiency and maximizing GOP, the property has solidified its position as a market leader in Dubai’s competitive hospitality sector. Our commitment to enhancing the guest experience has also resulted in a significant increase in the Relative Guest Index (RGI), reinforcing our reputation for delivering unparalleled luxury. Sustainability has been a cornerstone of our operations, with the property earning EarthCheck Gold Certification for 2024.
