M ore than just a restaurant, Marlow is a dining concept that brings the refined spirit of a British club to Monte-Carlo. Celebrated Franco-Mexican architect and interior designer Hugo Toro, renowned for his boundary-pushing interiors in Paris, NewYork, and more recently, Dubai, has brought his visionary design to Monaco with the launch of Marlow, a sophisticated British-inspired all-day dining destination nestled within Monaco’s new Mareterra district. This impressive land reclamation project represents Monaco’s bold step into the future, now home to the latest culinary gem by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. Mareterra, Monaco’s groundbreaking six-hectare waterfront district, was inaugurated on December 4, 2024. This $2 billion luxury ‘eco-district’ has expanded Monaco’s landmass by 3%, incorporating residential spaces, gardens, and recreational areas. The district features some of the world’s most expensive real estate, with prices reaching up to €120,000 per square metre, and is designed by notable architects like Renzo Piano – all while retaining the principality’s reputation for discretion and exclusivity. Officially inaugurated by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, alongside SBM’s Chairman and CEO Stéphane Valeri and Managing Director Albert Manzone, Marlow marks Toro’s first venture in Monaco. The restaurant reimagines the elegance of a 19th-century British polo club, infused with Mediterranean luminosity and Toro’s signature artistic flair. From Simply Abu Dhabi | 181
