Our 3 Questions for Kate Hudson Simply Abu Dhabi: In your new Netflix series Running Point , you portray a woman, Isla, who becomes president of her family business, a basketball franchise. Your family is famously creative, but is it a sporty family as well? Kate Hudson: I love sports! They’re like my cosy blanket. I come from a baseball family, but I love hockey and basketball too. My personal sport is soccer. I love playing soccer. I love watching soccer. We’re a big Arsenal family in our house! Isla is a woman on a journey of raising her voice and finding her power. Did you find that relatable? I have been raising my voice and trying to find my power since I was little. I mean, it’s just what it is when you grow up with boys. Isla needs to find her feet and her confidence. Which I think is very relatable to many women who come into positions where you have a lack of confidence, or maybe you know the right moves but your confidence hasn’t caught up to match what you know or what you think is best. You’ve said that music is your first love and you were responsible for a lot of the music on this show. Can you tell us more about that? Music is such an important part of a film or series – you can set a tone so differently when it comes to your score and music cues – as well as finding the places for there not to be music. It’s always just something that I like to be more hands on with, or at least have strong opinions about! 106 | Simply Abu Dhabi
