With a reputation for being the newest and most luxurious hotel, our expectations for our visit to Ray’s Bar were high. We weren’t disappointed. With breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf and Abu Dhabi Corniche the hotel is raising the standards for luxury hotels and Ray’s Bar on level 62 continues the opulent theme. Plush furnishings and low level lighting create an intimate ambience ideal for a great night out. Flamboyant zebra and cow hide upholstery hints to the fun vibe being created in this lavishly appointed upmarket bar. The Best Mocktails & Cocktails in the Capital! As we arrived we noted the customers sitting at the bar being engaged by the bar staff as they imparted the benefit of their wisdom in old school blends which provided a positive insight into the enthusiasm of the staff and the welcoming vibe being created. Served to a smooth soundtrack and with a sprinkling of repose, our chosen beverages from the classic blends list were delivered with prompt, courteous efficiency by friendly bar staff. You can’t fail to be enthused by the friendly warmth of the people around you as attentive bartenders interact with customers displaying their own unique expertise of blend mixing. Live entertainment, fabulous views, great food and a super smooth laid back ambience – it has to be Ray’s Bar. Located on the 62nd floor of the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, this fashionable venue offers cool sophistication by the bucket load. Specialising in imaginative cocktails and divine tapas, this is the perfect place to catch up with friends over a few drinks and a bite to eat, kicking back and appreciating the magnificent views across the city. With the recently opened Etihad Tower’s stunning location beside the sea at the western end of Abu Dhabi’s celebrated Corniche, Ray’s Bar provides the ideal atmosphere in which to relax and indulge with the ultimate stylish set, whether it is for after work drinks or a special social gathering. Far from a casual hang-out, with private booths and cocktail tables, everyone was dressed to impress and we were pleased we had booked in advance so we could enjoy our refreshments in the comfort of a cosy booth. The bar staff are keen to ensure they get every patron’s cocktail just right, taking the time to chat about favourite flavours and magical mixed blends. Mixing drinks with confidence and artistic flair the bartenders are delighted to stir up a sweet signature drink from their extensive beverage menu, but if this incredible choice of drinks fails to whet your appetite, their obvious desire to please means they are more than happy to create something else born of your choice and blended with their imagination. With vintages from across the globe, the grape list and funky menus are vibrantly presented with pop art for a fun vibe that hints at the exciting flavoursome experience one is about to encounter. Whether you’re looking for bubbly, grape based beverages or something purer, the menu caters to all tastes and the drinks don’t have to be served shaken nor stirred. From fruity and punchy, to sweet and sharp, the choice of cocktails is diversely tempting and they already seem to be developing a reputation for being the best in the capital! Having been helpfully guided through the special range of signature drinks available, with mouths watering, we made our selection. Great decision – our chosen jelly mixed drinks seemed to be going down a storm. Fabulously fruity beverages and divine juices were poured over chunky cubes of frozen jelly for a refreshing taste sensation which appeared to be hugely popular. We certainly enjoyed ours, before turning our attention to the Tapas menu.
