The bathrooms, too, were truly amazing: decorated in luxury marble and including a relaxing spa Jacuzzi, a beautiful walk- in shower, and the very finest porcelain fittings. Naturally, the bathroom was equipped with a range of full sized Hermès fragrances and body products for Him and Her. It was true: our time in the Presidential suite had been amazing beyond words. But we were equally looking forward to staying in the Royal Suite. The Royal suite: Staggeringly beautiful The staggeringly beautiful Royal Suite – which we called home for the second part of our stay – is the epitome of sheer opulence. The two Royal Suites, which span the entire 25th floor, are considered suitable for visiting VVIPs, Royal Families, celebrities, politicians and other dignitaries – and of course, anyone else who wants to experience this level of ultimate luxury. Each Royal suite spans approximately 780 square meters over two floors, encompassing six rooms, three bathrooms and two powder rooms. As soon as we walked through the grand entrance door of the suite and saw the magnificent hall, we understood why the Royal Suite could never fail to meet – and then exceed – guests’ expectations. The gorgeously appointed interiors, majestic colour scheme, and sumptuous furnishings will make you feel that you are living at the height of opulence. Because you will be. We stood agape as we took in the amazing leopard-print tufted carpets, the Carrara marble flooring and mahogany furniture. Imagine somewhere where everything you saw was of the very finest luxury. The Royal Suite is like that – but so much better. We had never seen anything quite like it – and that’s before we ascended the striking marble and gold staircase to the upper level. This is where we encountered some of the exclusive amenities – such as the private lift and the cinema – which took the Royal Suite into the stratosphere of luxury. The beautiful master bedroom, with its rotating four-poster canopy bed, was probably the finest we have ever seen. The sumptuous dressing roomwas itself larger than the average hotel room. The design and fittings of the second bedroom also oozed pure class, and the marble bathrooms – which, as in the Presidential Suite, had a spa jacuzzi, walk-in shower, fine porcelain fittings and a range of full sized Hermès fragrances and body products for Him and Her – were as luxurious as we had now come to expect. In short, the Royal suite at the Burj al Arab has redefined our idea of what luxury is. The suite is the jewel in the crown of an establishment that seeps luxury, opulence and magnificence from its every pore. We left relaxed, refreshed, delighted and amazed – and we promised ourselves that we would return as soon as we could.
