The name ‘Nahaam’ refers to the singer who traditionally accompanied the crew on pearl diving ships. He would sing soulful traditional songs as the boats headed off to sea, and joyful chants as they returned safely home to loved ones. Through his vocal talents, the Nahaam provided comfort to his colleagues on their sea voyages. And in a similar way, the international fare and well-known “soul food” favourites at the restaurant provide pleasure and comfort to its guests. To us, Nahaam seemed like a gastronomic celebration of life. It has a deep connection to the sea – expressed in its name and its location equally. Freshness is key to the dining experience at Nahaam, both in the produce used and in its proximity to the cooling sea breezes. We relished the relaxed vibe at Nahaam: as well as couples, it would be perfect for families and individuals seeking quality time. The atmosphere is both light and lively – ideal for celebratory occasions with old friends. Another superb casual restaurant is Rosewater, a luxurious all-day dining restaurant with views across the ocean and an outdoor terrace. In the Arab world, rosewater has been offered to visitors as a form of genuine hospitality for centuries.
