For example, we’re hugely excited that an outlet for the luxurious jeweller and watchmaker Cartier has opened. The lavish Cartier boutique in the Avenue was officially inaugurated at an incredibly glamorous ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of four distinguished people. Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi was in attendance, along with HE Sheikh Suroor Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan. Abdulla Khalil Al Mutawa, General Manager of HE Sheikh Al Nahyan, and the Regional Director for Cartier Middle East, India and Africa, Louis Ferla, also graced the ceremony with their presence. To coincide with the opening, Cartier held an absolutely fascinating “Tiaras & Royalties” exhibition, commemorating 165 years of the brand’s history. Cartier has long been established as one of the most prestigious jewellers in the world. The brilliant exhibition underlines how the company was supplier to many Royal Courts – and warranted by King Edward VII as “Cartier, jeweller of kings, king of jewellers”. Four exquisitely beautiful tiaras and necklaces from the Cartier Collection, presented in an outstanding setting at the new boutique, were brought in specially for the exhibition. To many who attended, the event confirmed the House’s deep and powerful sense of tradition, as well as its trust of quality and its unceasing devotion to the art of fine craftsmanship. The stunning materials that had been used to create these wonderful items were a demonstration of Cartier’s absolute commitment to quality. The Cartier space at Etihad was designed by Bruno Moinard. It provides a series of distinct, but interconnected, environments. The retail areas have a real sense of privacy and intimacy, aimed at the VIP clients who will undoubtedly be visiting. It has a theme that is both traditional and contemporary, enabling it to incorporate very diverse ranges of its fabulous products. The amazing opening ceremony was followed by a cocktail reception. Models showcased Cartier’s sumptuous jewellery creations, while guests were able to explore the Cartier Boutique space and walk through the historical exhibition.
