D ior is the ultimate symbol of elegance, excellence and luxury. In the 21st Century, the brand continues to define elegance and style with the same audacity that inspired Monsieur Dior when he launched his house of luxury clothing. As Christian Dior himself said: “True Luxury requires genuine materials and the craftsman’s sincerity. It is only meaningful when it respects tradition“. Dior was a visionary. Beginning with his first collection in 1947, he rewrote the rules of modern elegance and imposed his style on the entire world. He brought women his vision of beauty and happiness. He showed unprecedented creative originality. And his approach was always customer-focused: “I create so that each and every woman is the most beautiful,” he said. Simons’ latest designs for the Spring/Summer Ready to Wear collection feature garments of pure elegance, like a range of stunning black jackets, accessorised with scarves of varying colours: red, black, and pink. In a highly creative development of this theme, Simons has also created some ‘jacket dresses’ – extending the jacket to the length of a skirt, or removing the sleeves for a bold sleeveless style. Simons’ visionary work for Dior does not stop there. Some of the most captivating of his designs are some mini-ballgown styles in pink and metallic shades. They’re worn over shorts, with striking large pockets. Short dresses in black and pink stripes, floral jackets and multi-coloured shoes are among the other of Simons’ exquisite new creations. Not surprisingly, with collections and creativity like this, Simons is ensuring that the classic Dior brand is going from strength to strength.
