Carolina Herrera’s Spring/Summer 2013 Ready-to-Wear F luidity, lightness and new proportions are all elements that characterize Carolina Herrera’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection. With an arsenal of chiffon, tulle and organza, the designer incorporates delicate and airy fabrics into ethereal and free- flowing creations. The collection boasts colours of pale blue, white and black, found on dresses that hit just above the ankle, as well as softer shades of green and pale yellow that create abstract patterns echoing the work of 20th century Abstract Expressionists. Other garments include sheer blouses and voluminous maxi skirts, as well as one-shoulder gowns held together with a skinny and refined belt. Throughout the collection, rococo references are to be found, translated into decorative form. For example, a cream-colored dress with puffy three-quarter bell sleeves is adorned with silver beads and orange colour around each edge. Amyriad of unexpected yet refined and ethereal shapes, this collection takes femininity to another level and bestows it with a slight edge. 1 6 9 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I
