created from a single sheet of bronze mesh, as well as the wall- mounted piece made from 207 brass Buddha sculptures and entitled Transcend. At the same time, stunning crystal Chinese dragons hang from the ground floor ceiling, luring guests in to this impressive oriental realm. While relishing in this extravagant Far Eastern ambiance, we flipped through the menu to decide on our meal. Like other Buddha-Bars, the branch’s London venue serves up an enticing menu blending Far Eastern cuisine with Western tastes and influences. Perusing the list of dishes, we found Chinese, Japanese, Thai and other Eastern flavours stylishly entwined to create new cutting-edge culinary concoctions. Our server prompted us to try dishes specially devised for the London venue. We thus opted for Venison Tataki, Dragon Scallop steamed in the shell, a Smoked Duck and Foie Gras Gyoza for starters – both intoxicatingly delicious. Jordana also opted for zesty Spicy Tuna Tartare salad and Salted Edamame. We were in heaven. Superbly content with what had just been served, we made our way to the main course. I chose a deliciously rich and creamy pan-fried Seabass with Shiso Butter Sakura Mix, while Jordana opted for a Mixed Seafood Red Curry with Lemon Grass Rice and Banana Leaf – a fragrant blend of riveting Far Eastern spices coupled with fresh seafood. 2 4 1 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I
