Constellation Sedna S edna™ gold is the name OMEGA has given to the unique hue of its new Constellation timepiece, which stunningly blends three elements: gold, copper and palladium. Sedna™ takes its name from a celestial object that astronomers have described as one of the reddest in our solar system. Sedna™’s unique colour is a result, in part, of the right proportion of copper: its palladium content helps to ensure that the reddish hue of Sedna™ gold will be particularly long lasting. In order to make this exceptional timepiece, Swatch Group assembled a team of top metallurgists and scientists from several of its companies with the shared goal of creating an 18 carat rose gold alloy whose colour would be not only beautiful, but enduring. The first ever to be crafted in 18 carat Sedna™ gold, this limited edition wristwatch seamlessly blends the timeless aesthetic appeal of the legendary watch family with the world premiere of an innovative creation. The distinctive timepiece has a polished casebody with a brushed bezel emboldened by tone- in-tone Roman numerals. It has a luxurious silvery “pie-pan” dial, inspired by the very first OMEGA Constellation timepiece launched in 1952. The watch is presented on a strap crafted from fine brown leather, and is equipped with OMEGA’s innovative Si14 silicon balance spring and the industry- changing OMEGA Co-Axial calibre 8501, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback. It is also water resistant to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet). The OMEGA Constellation Sedna™ is produced in an edition limited to 1,952 pieces, signifying the year OMEGA debuted the renowned Constellation watch family.
