Strata Manufacturing Achieves Approved Maintenance Organization Certification

Strata Manufacturing Achieves Approved Maintenance Organization Certification

The UAE-based aerospace manufacturer has secured CAR-145 certification from the General Civil Aviation Authority, expanding its capabilities into aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services and reinforcing the nation's position as a global aviation hub.

Strata Manufacturing PJSC, the wholly owned subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company, has achieved a significant strategic milestone by securing Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) certification from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), operating under the authority’s CAR-145 regulatory framework.

The certification represents a substantial expansion of Strata’s business scope and value proposition, enabling the company to undertake comprehensive maintenance, repair and inspection activities across the aviation sector. Leveraging its established world-class infrastructure and technical capabilities, Strata now positions itself to engage meaningfully within the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) segment of the global aviation industry.

Strengthening UAE’s Aviation Ecosystem

The formal presentation of the CAR-145 approval certificate took place between the GCAA team and Sara Abdulla Al Memari, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Strata, alongside Eng Aqeel Al Zarouni, Assistant Director General of the Aviation Safety Affairs Sector at GCAA.

Aqeel Al Zarouni remarked: “The certification granted to Strata marks an important milestone that reflects the GCAA’s commitment to advancing the UAE’s aircraft maintenance ecosystem in line with the highest international standards. It also strengthens the sector’s readiness by enabling national companies to undertake aircraft maintenance activities within a robust regulatory framework that ensures the highest levels of safety, quality, and compliance.”

He further noted that the GCAA’s implementation of CAR-145 requirements aligns with international best practices and standards, supporting the competitive strength of the UAE’s civil aviation sector whilst advancing the nation’s strategic vision of establishing itself as a leading global hub encompassing aircraft manufacturing, maintenance and related aviation services.

Expanding Horizons Beyond Manufacturing

Sara Abdulla Al Memari highlighted the significance of this achievement: “This certification opens new horizons for Strata in aircraft component maintenance activities, further strengthening our global position and building on our distinguished manufacturing journey since 2010, which has resulted in the production of more than 120,000 advanced-composite aerostructure components.”

She emphasised that the AMO certification reflects Strata’s sustained commitment to growth, business diversification and regulatory excellence, whilst supporting the company’s broader ambition to assume an increasingly influential role across the global aerospace industry.

The expansion into maintenance and quality services represents a natural progression for the organisation, building upon earlier endeavours to establish aircraft component repair capabilities. This transition from pure manufacturing into comprehensive MRO services consolidates Strata’s evolution and creates enhanced opportunities to strengthen its portfolio of offerings and contributions to both the local and international aerospace sectors.
