Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts celebrates first anniversary with month-long festival of classical horsemanship

ADREA opens a month of performances, cultural experiences and equestrian activations, commencing with a special anniversary gala on 31 October and continuing throughout November, honouring a landmark year in establishing Abu Dhabi as a world centre for classical horsemanship.

Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts has reached a significant milestone, marking its first anniversary since opening on Jubail Island with a month-long celebration that brings together the institution’s finest talents, most compelling performances and most distinctive offerings to both devoted enthusiasts and those newly awakening to the elegance of classical horsemanship.

The anniversary festivities will commence on 31 October with ONE YEAR HOME: THE ANNIVERSARY GALA PERFORMANCE, an evening that seamlessly weaves together classical horsemanship, live musical accompaniment and artistic performance. The occasion will feature a performance by Emirati opera singer Fatima Alhashmi, creating an atmosphere of particular refinement as the institution celebrates its formative opening year and ventures into its next chapter of growth and cultural stewardship.

A Month of Discovery and Engagement

Throughout November, ADREA will host an expansive programme encompassing performances, workshops, special experiences and equestrian activations, each thoughtfully designed to offer visitors fresh perspectives on the discipline of classical horsemanship and its intricate fusion of knowledge, craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

Establishing Abu Dhabi on the Global Stage

Since opening its doors, ADREA has established Abu Dhabi as home to the fifth school of classical horsemanship in the world and the first such institution to be situated outside Europe. The establishment has created a dedicated sanctuary for preserving, teaching and advancing an equestrian tradition refined across centuries, bringing to Abu Dhabi an institution of genuine international significance.

The anniversary celebration thus represents more than the completion of a single year; it marks both a reflection upon ADREA’s achievements and a celebration of the momentum that will propel it forward. The institution remains steadfastly committed to developing classical horsemanship in Abu Dhabi through comprehensive training programmes, educational initiatives, curated performances and a rich cultural calendar designed to deepen understanding and appreciation of this distinguished discipline.
