A Milestone of Excellence: UAE University Celebrates its 46th Graduation Cohort

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan presided over a significant academic milestone as the United Arab Emirates University celebrated the graduation of its 46th cohort, honouring over two and a half thousand graduates who have completed their studies across diverse disciplines.
The graduation ceremony of the United Arab Emirates University’s 46th cohort unfolded with considerable grandeur at the institution’s Al Ain campus, marking a momentous occasion in the university’s enduring legacy of academic excellence. His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, presided over the proceedings, which commenced with the national anthem and progressed through a reflective presentation of the university’s fifty-year heritage, tracing the remarkable journey from its inaugural cohort to the present day.
Words of Wisdom and Vision
His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Chancellor of the UAEU, delivered a thoughtful address emphasising the profound significance of the occasion. He extended gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his steadfast commitment to education and knowledge, noting that the true measure of a nation’s strength lies in the minds of its people and their capacity to translate learning into meaningful achievement. His Excellency reflected upon the institution’s genesis fifty years ago, when the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan established not merely a university, but a visionary foundation upon which generations would build their futures.
His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed extended warm congratulations to the graduating cohort and their families, emphasising that graduation represents not an endpoint but rather the commencement of a profoundly consequential phase characterised by responsibility and continued growth. He highlighted the imperative for graduates to remain committed to learning, skill development and the thoughtful application of their knowledge towards positive societal impact and national development aspirations.
Nurturing National Talent
His Highness underscored the university’s pivotal responsibility in cultivating an increasingly robust academic and research environment, ensuring that its endeavours remain precisely aligned with the requirements of priority sectors. This strategic alignment, he affirmed, enables the institution to prepare national talent of exceptional calibre, individuals equipped to navigate future challenges and contribute innovative solutions that substantively support the UAE’s comprehensive development agenda.
The 46th cohort comprises an impressive 2,588 graduates spanning an extensive range of academic disciplines. Among this distinguished group, 630 graduates were recognised for achieving their degrees with exceptional distinction, honoured during the ceremony on 21 October 2026. The remaining graduates will be acknowledged at a subsequent ceremony scheduled for 22 October 2026.
The graduation ceremony’s overarching theme, “An Enduring Vision,” elegantly encapsulates the profound connection between the university’s five-decade legacy of educational achievement and the aspirations of its newly graduated cohort regarding their anticipated contributions to society and the nation’s future trajectory.
