The Dubai Future District Fund and Buimerc Corporation have formed a strategic alliance to deepen ties between the UAE and India, creating pathways for founders and venture investors to establish and scale businesses across borders.
When the doors between two thriving economies open, the possibilities multiply. The Dubai Future District Fund and Buimerc Corporation have recently formalised a partnership designed to strengthen Dubai’s position as a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation and international investment, whilst fostering deeper economic collaboration between the UAE and India.
The collaboration, announced during a meeting at the Consulate General of India in Dubai, reflects the enduring commercial ties between the two nations and their shared commitment to fostering innovation across sectors. Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to the UAE, joined Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Consul-General of India in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, alongside officials from both organisations to mark the occasion.
Buimerc, an investment company with Indian roots and deep knowledge of both UAE and Indian markets, brings to the partnership a long-term perspective on value creation and entrepreneurial development. The cooperation aims to support Dubai’s entrepreneurship ecosystem through market intelligence, facilitate the establishment of founders and venture fund managers within the emirate, and orchestrate joint initiatives spanning entrepreneur programmes, international delegations and signature events.
The partnership aligns seamlessly with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to consolidate Dubai’s standing as a leading global centre for innovation and the new economy, whilst doubling the size of its economy and positioning it among the world’s top three cities for investing, living and working. As Dubai Future Week continues to celebrate innovation, this alliance strengthens the infrastructure supporting the visionary thinking that defines the emirate’s trajectory.
Khalfan Juma Belhoul, Chairman of the Dubai Future District Fund and Chief Executive of Dubai Future Foundation, noted that innovation and entrepreneurship represent some of the most promising sectors in both the UAE and India. He remarked that the partnership forms part of international efforts to position Dubai as a preferred destination for entrepreneurs, investors and innovators seeking to establish and expand their ventures.
Arif Amiri, Chief Executive of the DIFC Authority, observed that Dubai has strengthened its global position by cultivating enduring connections between economies, investment, capital and opportunity. The cooperation between the two entities, he suggested, will create new pathways for Indian founders and investors to establish businesses in Dubai, scale internationally and contribute to stronger economic ties between the nations.
Siddharth Balachandran, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive of Buimerc, reflected on India’s continued innovation in technology entrepreneurship, noting that Dubai has emerged as a natural gateway to the region and the global venture capital ecosystem. The partnership, he emphasised, will support the venture capital vision envisioned under D33 whilst strengthening the longstanding economic and strategic links between the UAE and India.
The Dubai Future District Fund, backed by the Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubai Future Foundation, invests in companies and venture funds across various stages of growth in sectors including PropTech, HealthTech, LogisticsTech, DeepTech, circular economy technologies and Web3. Nader Albastaki, Managing Director of the Fund, stated that the partnership will help ambitious companies establish themselves in Dubai and expand internationally by leveraging the Fund’s network of venture funds and entrepreneurs.
What it means for Abu Dhabi
This partnership reflects the broader regional commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across the Emirates. As the UAE continues to position itself as a global centre for technological advancement and venture investment, such collaborations strengthen the ecosystem that benefits innovators and investors throughout the nation. The initiative demonstrates how strategic alliances can unlock opportunities for businesses to scale regionally and globally, with implications that extend beyond Dubai to the wider emirates.
The deepening ties between the UAE and India, facilitated through such ventures, contribute to the nation’s diversified economy and its vision of becoming a hub for global talent and investment. By creating pathways for cross-border entrepreneurship and leveraging the expertise of investors with deep understanding of both markets, the partnership supports the UAE’s long-term objectives of economic diversification and sustainable growth, benefiting the entire federation.
