Al Ain to Host Two Prestigious International Shooting Championships in November

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Shooting Federation will welcome the world's elite shooters to the region for back-to-back international competitions, cementing Al Ain's status as a premier sporting destination.

The rhythms of international competitive sport are about to accelerate across Al Ain, as two significant shooting championships descend upon the region in November. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, the UAE Shooting Federation has arranged both events in cooperation with the Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse, bringing together top competitors and delegations from across the globe.

The Al Ain Grand Prix – Compak Sporting will commence on 8 November at Al Ain Shooting Club, running through to 10 November. Directly following, from 12 to 14 November, the Al Ain Desert Grand Prix – Sporting takes place at the Aquila Holding Company Club. Together, the two championships offer a combined prize fund of approximately AED1.8 million, with a dedicated category for Arab shooters designed to strengthen competition among the world’s leading marksmen.

Mohammed Suhail Al Neyadi, President of the UAE Shooting Federation, recognised the UAE leadership’s sustained commitment to nurturing athletic excellence and commended H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his patronage. The region has emerged as a global hub for shooting competitions, building upon the success of the 2025 championships held in Al Ain. As part of the federation’s broader initiative to identify and develop shooting talent, the UAE Open Shooting Championship has established a comprehensive framework attracting 280 competitors from schools, clubs and academies.

Strong international registration figures underscore global confidence in the UAE’s capacity to host competitions of this calibre. Al Neyadi attributed this to advanced infrastructure, modern sporting facilities and meticulous organisational standards. Strategic partners have played a vital role in reinforcing the international reputation of shooting competitions in the UAE, he noted, helping to position the country as a versatile host of diverse sporting events.

The championships represent a significant addition to the UAE’s sporting calendar, further enhancing Al Ain’s profile as both a regional sporting centre and tourism destination of distinction.
