Khalifa Award for Education showcases 20th Edition at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2026

The Khalifa Award for Education is presenting its 20th Edition at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, outlining 10 fields across 18 categories and inviting applications until the end of December.

Abu Dhabi, 15 September 2026 — The General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education, one of the institutions of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, has underlined the significance of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair as a platform for cultural and intellectual exchange.

Speaking at the Award’s pavilion, Humaid Al Houti, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education, characterised the Fair as an opportunity to reach prospective applicants and to present the Award’s current edition. He noted the leadership’s ongoing support for culture as a means of strengthening communication among diverse communities.

The 20th Edition of the Khalifa Award for Education presents 10 fields across 18 categories at UAE, Arab and international levels. Applications for this edition remain open until the end of December.

Among the fields featured at the pavilion are Educational Authorship for Children and the Khalifa International Award for Early Learning, both offered at the international level. The Award is also showcasing categories that recognise contributions to Arabic language teaching and familial support for education, including Innovation in Arabic Language Teaching and the Distinguished Emirati Family category, which honours families that have supported and empowered children educationally and developmentally.

Visitors to the pavilion can learn about categories that reward higher education excellence and inventive practice in schools. The Distinguished University Lecturer category highlights outstanding tertiary teaching, while the Innovative Educational Projects and Programs field brings together inventive initiatives. Notably, the Innovation and Artificial Intelligence in Education category has been introduced for the first time in this edition, reflecting the Award’s interest in contemporary educational technologies.

The organisers described the Fair as a strategic venue for dialogue with educators, authors and cultural institutions, facilitating both national and international collaboration. By presenting a wide range of categories, the Khalifa Award aims to attract diverse submissions that reflect evolving educational priorities across the region and beyond.
