Simply Abu Dhabi XI

It was a lovely short stroll to The Galleria at Sowwah Square, a fantastically swanky fashion and dining district that connects to the waterfront, providing a sophisticated entertainment area. MREI has done another amazing job with the Galleria, teaming up with Gulf Related, a regional real estate development company, to develop, lease, and operate more than 140 shops, cafes and restaurants. Arnie and I spent a couple of hours browsing through all the stores. There is everything from international designer names in fashion, fine jewellery and accessories, through to luxurious watch boutiques and the best high street brands. We could have carried on wandering around the Galleria for hours – I had to drag Arnie away from the RichardMille watches – but we had a reservation for afternoon tea in theMajilis and so we headed back for that most civilised of beverage breaks. The Majilis is yet another delightful space in the Rosewood, immaculately set and infused with a sense of style and distinction. The Rosewood uses floor-to-ceiling windows to great effect, and here they overlook the water and beyond, providing a wonderful panoramic view of the city to admire over tea and deliciously neat sandwiches. 3 1 S I M P LY A B U DH A B I
