Ajman Establishes Thara Ecosystem to Cultivate Investment and Innovation

Crown Prince Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi witnesses the launch of an integrated entrepreneurship platform designed to connect government, investors and founders within a unified economic framework

The Thara Investment and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem emerged into existence on 29 October with the ceremonial presence of H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, marking a significant moment in the emirate’s economic evolution. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, the initiative was formally opened at the Thara Centre for Entrepreneurship, drawing together government leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and representatives from economic institutions and start-up companies.

The ecosystem operates as an integrated model, bringing together six specialised companies: Thara Holding, Thara Hub, Thara X, Thara Capital, Thara Experience and Thara Foundation. Together, they provide comprehensive support spanning the entire entrepreneurial journey, from the earliest stages of business establishment through to growth, expansion and competitive positioning in regional and global markets. The framework connects founders with investors and strategic partners whilst offering flexible workspaces, operational services and business development programmes.

H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi articulated the significance of the development, describing it as representing an important step in the emirate’s broader economic ambitions. “Ajman continues to develop an integrated economic and investment environment founded on innovation, supporting entrepreneurship and offering promising opportunities for growth and expansion to investors and business owners,” he said. The Crown Prince emphasised entrepreneurship as a key driver of sustainable economic development, noting its role in diversifying income sources, creating employment opportunities and empowering talent and capabilities.

The launch aligns with as we reported in our coverage of Ajman’s strengthened focus on financial innovation and economic growth. Over a five-year horizon, the ecosystem projects the generation of cumulative added value of no less than AED 700 million for Ajman’s economy, with targets encompassing 100 companies establishing, relocating or expanding within the emirate and the creation of 3,135 direct employment opportunities.

Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ajman Chamber, described the ecosystem’s launch as a strategic step towards strengthening the emirate’s economic competitiveness. Maryam Khalifa Al Nuaimi, Chairperson of the Thara Investment and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem’s Board, affirmed that the initiative establishes a new phase of economic and investment integration, bringing all elements of the business environment together under a unified structure. The inaugural Thara Connect Forum featured panel discussions on government’s role in supporting entrepreneurship, investment readiness criteria and founders’ experiences, alongside cooperation agreements and direct engagement between investors and entrepreneurs.

What it means for Abu Dhabi

The emergence of Thara represents a model of economic ecosystem integration that carries significance for the broader Emirates. As a neighbouring emirate strengthens its entrepreneurship infrastructure and investment environment, it contributes to the region’s collective economic diversity and resilience. The ecosystem’s emphasis on connecting government entities, private sector actors and innovators within a structured framework reflects broader priorities across the UAE for driving sustainable, diversified economic development.

The initiative’s emphasis on creating employment opportunities and supporting start-ups through structured financing, mentorship and market access aligns with the federation’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering innovation-led growth. By establishing clear pathways for business development and investor engagement, Ajman’s ecosystem contributes to strengthening the competitive positioning of the broader regional economy and reinforces the UAE’s standing as an attractive destination for investment and entrepreneurial endeavour.
