Aldar to Sponsor Abu Dhabi Championship as DP World Tour Play-Offs Landmark Continues

The developer of Abu Dhabi's most iconic destinations has become title partner of the 2026 Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, elevating the emirate's position as a premier global golf destination.
The DP World Tour has announced that Aldar will become the new Title Partner of the 2026 Abu Dhabi Championship, the first of two events in the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs. The partnership represents a natural evolution of the relationship between the DP World Tour and Aldar, who became an Official Marketing Partner and Official Real Estate Partner of the tour in 2025.
Staged by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the DP World Tour, the 2026 Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship will take place from 5–8 November at Yas Links. The leading 70 available players on the Race to Dubai Rankings will compete for a place amongst the top 50 qualifiers for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai the following week.
A Platform for Excellence
Aldar, the developer of Abu Dhabi’s most distinctive residential and leisure destinations including Yas Island and Saadiyat Island, has delivered over 35,000 homes since its inception. The company also owns and manages a diverse portfolio of recurring income assets valued at more than US$15 billion, encompassing hotels, golf courses, shopping malls, offices, schools and warehousing facilities, with an expanding presence across Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Egypt and the United Kingdom.
His Excellency Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Aldar, observed: “Abu Dhabi has established itself as a global hub for world-class sport, entertainment and experiences. Aldar has been instrumental in shaping Yas Island into one of the region’s most sought-after places to live, visit and invest, and becoming Title Partner of the Abu Dhabi Championship builds naturally on that foundation. Sport has a unique power to bring people together, and this partnership gives us a compelling platform to deepen those connections while showcasing Abu Dhabi and Yas Island to a growing global audience.”
Reinforcing the Capital’s Sporting Legacy
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said the championship builds on Abu Dhabi’s success in hosting world-class tournaments and reinforces the capital’s position as a leading golf destination. “This partnership reflects the important role national organisations and the sports sector play together in supporting and hosting global events, and will help deliver an experience befitting Abu Dhabi and the tournament’s international standing,” he noted.
The tournament’s prominence was further underscored when six-time Major Champion and current Masters Champion Rory McIlroy confirmed his participation once again. McIlroy, the current Race to Dubai Champion, described the Abu Dhabi Championship as one of the tournaments he most anticipated. “Abu Dhabi is a fantastic place to visit, Yas Links is always in immaculate condition, and the atmosphere throughout the week makes it a special event,” he said. “I’ve finished runner-up here four times, so I’d obviously love to go one better and finally win it.”
Spectator Experience and Access
General admission tickets are available free for the first two days of the event, with tickets for the final two days starting from AED75. For those wishing to enhance their experience, Bar on Nine, the Ticket+ offering introduced in 2025, will be available at promotional rates from AED170, which includes an AED100 food and beverage voucher.
The Championship Chalet on the 18th offers an exclusive premium experience, providing guests with five-star hospitality and panoramic views of the final hole from an air-conditioned vantage point. Prices for this option start from AED1,680.
Guy Kinnings, Chief Executive Officer of the DP World Tour, emphasised that the partnership represents a landmark moment for the championship. “Since joining the DP World Tour family, Aldar has demonstrated a clear commitment to using golf as a platform to showcase Abu Dhabi to a global audience, engage communities and support the growth of our sport,” he said.
