A high‑level economic delegation of 15 leading women entrepreneurs from the People’s Republic of China has begun a two‑week official visit to the United Arab Emirates, hosted in Abu Dhabi by the General Women’s Union (GWU).
The visitors represent companies and business groups with combined annual revenues of about 4.85 billion yuan. Their businesses span a broad range of sectors, including industry, trade, hospitality, tourism, food security, biotechnology, infrastructure, new energy, smart lighting, real estate and investment services, plus textiles and clothing.
The visit is organised jointly by the GWU and the UAE Embassy in Beijing as part of an investment programme that will see the delegation explore opportunities across several emirates. In Abu Dhabi the programme is intended to give Chinese business leaders first‑hand exposure to the emirate’s integrated economic ecosystem and advanced infrastructure.
Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary‑General of the General Women’s Union, said the initiative forms part of the GWU’s wider effort to extend international cooperation for women and connect them with meaningful economic and investment prospects. She emphasised that the GWU selected a compact group of Chinese women entrepreneurs with substantial economic influence and diverse expertise, with the aim of advancing relationships beyond dialogue towards tangible partnerships, investments and joint ventures.
According to the GWU, the visit is designed to open direct channels between the Chinese delegates and Emirati women entrepreneurs and businesswomen, offering opportunities to assess collaboration potential across multiple sectors. The delegation’s cross‑sector composition reflects targeted interests in areas where Abu Dhabi and the UAE have prioritised growth and investment.
Officials said the two‑week itinerary includes meetings, site visits and discussions intended to showcase competitive business conditions and investment prospects. The engagement underscores Abu Dhabi’s role as a focal point for international business delegations seeking long‑term, sustainable commercial ties in the Gulf region.
By facilitating direct exchanges between women leaders from China and the UAE, GWU officials highlighted the visit’s potential to catalyse new projects and deepen bilateral economic links that could benefit female entrepreneurs in both countries.
