Deputy Ruler Strengthens UAE-Oman Partnership in High-Level Muscat Visit
Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan has concluded an official visit to Oman, meeting with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to advance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors and reaffirm the enduring fraternal ties between the two neighbouring nations.
His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, has completed an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, culminating in substantive discussions with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said at Al Baraka Palace in Muscat.
The visit underscores the strategic importance both nations place on their bilateral relationship. Upon arrival at Royal Airport, His Highness was received by His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, alongside senior Omani officials, setting the tone for the high-level diplomatic engagement that followed.
Conveying Presidential Greetings
Opening the formal meeting, His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed warm greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, together with wishes for the Sultan’s continued health and happiness and for sustained progress and prosperity across Oman. In reciprocation, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said extended his own greetings to the UAE President, expressing his hopes for further advancement and prosperity throughout the Emirates.
Broadening Cooperation Framework
The substantive discussions at Al Baraka Palace addressed the expansion of cooperation between the two countries across diverse sectors aligned with their mutual interests. His Majesty Sultan Haitham emphasised the deep-rooted fraternal bonds uniting the UAE and Oman, characterising these ties as enduring foundations for strengthened partnership. The meeting examined existing collaborative frameworks and identified fresh opportunities for enhanced engagement that would benefit both nations and their peoples.
The two delegations also exchanged perspectives on matters of shared concern and strategic importance, reflecting the breadth of the bilateral relationship and the commitment both governments place on maintaining regular high-level dialogue.
Distinguished Delegations
The UAE delegation accompanying His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan comprised senior officials instrumental in national security, investment and development initiatives. These included His Excellency Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for National Security; His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Minister of Investment; His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development; and His Excellency Sultan Obaid Al Yabhouni, Director General of the Office of the Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
The Omani side was represented by His Excellency General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Minister of the Royal Office; His Excellency Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; and His Excellency Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority, underscoring Oman’s commitment to advancing economic and strategic cooperation.
Diplomatic Hospitality
Following the formal discussions, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said hosted a luncheon in honour of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the accompanying delegation, providing an opportunity for further informal dialogue and the reinforcement of personal relationships among senior officials from both nations.
