Dubai Finance Charts Course Through AI and Digital Payments at FinTech Summit

Dubai Finance Charts Course Through AI and Digital Payments at FinTech Summit

As the emirate advances its cashless ambitions, Dubai Finance will showcase transformative technologies spanning artificial intelligence, digital assets and integrated payment systems at this week's summit.

The future of Dubai’s financial ecosystem will take tangible form over two days this November, as Dubai Finance presents a carefully curated vision of how technology and innovation can reshape public finance and everyday transactions. The fourth edition of Dubai FinTech Summit, held at Madinat Jumeirah on 2–3 November, carries the theme Artificial Intelligence for Financial Innovation, a lens through which the emirate’s financial institutions are examining the next generation of digital commerce.

Dubai Finance’s participation reflects a broader institutional commitment to translating technological progress into practical value. The showcase will centre on three interconnected initiatives: the results of the recently announced Dubai Cashless Strategy, which has reshaped how the emirate approaches payment systems; DP3, a platform designed for managing public-private partnership projects; and AIltizam, an artificial intelligence system that identifies compliance gaps, analyses associated risks and strengthens financial governance across regulatory frameworks.

Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director-General of Dubai Finance, speaks to the scale of this ambition. “Guided by our leadership, Dubai’s vision inspires us to advance public finance in ways that support economic growth and improve quality of life,” he observed. “Our participation in Dubai FinTech Summit reflects our commitment to innovation and partnerships that strengthen Dubai’s readiness for the future of finance.”

The demonstrations themselves span a breadth of emerging capabilities. Visitors will encounter AI-assisted purchasing, where intelligent agents discover products, compare options and initiate purchases within predefined permissions. Network International will present Network Max, enabling small and medium enterprises to receive, manage and spend revenues digitally, alongside Slice, its flexible payment solution. The showcase will integrate domestic payment methods, including Jaywan and Aani, with global systems such as Alipay, WeChat Pay and RuPay, alongside demonstrations of UAE dirham-backed stablecoin acceptance and the use of cryptocurrencies for government service payments.

As we reported in Dubai’s expansion in financial services, the emirate continues to deepen its relationships with major global financial institutions. That trajectory extends to the strategic partnerships Dubai Finance is formalizing at the summit: collaborations with American Express to expand digital payment acceptance, VARA to advance regulated virtual assets, and Neopay to promote the One Pay strategic project and split payment solution.

Huda Hamdan Al Shaikh, Executive Director of the Corporate Services Sector and Chief AI Officer at Dubai Finance, articulates the philosophy driving these efforts. “We focus on AI applications that deliver tangible value for public finance. By combining innovation with effective governance, we aim to improve financial processes, support decision-making and build capabilities that meet government’s evolving needs and ambitions.”

What it means for Abu Dhabi

Dubai’s advancement of cashless infrastructure and AI-driven financial systems reflects the broader momentum across the United Arab Emirates toward digital transformation in government and commerce. As neighbouring emirate Abu Dhabi develops its own financial ecosystem, the innovations showcased at this summit—particularly in public finance management and compliance technology—establish frameworks and demonstrate practical applications that inform regional approaches to financial modernisation.

The emphasis on public-private collaboration, evident through Dubai Finance’s partnerships with technology providers and global financial institutions, establishes a model for how government entities can engage the private sector in advancing financial infrastructure. For Abu Dhabi’s institutions and businesses, the cashless strategy and emerging payment technologies offer insights into integration points across government services, revenue collection and transaction efficiency that support the broader regional agenda of economic diversification and competitiveness.
