The Community Development Authority and Dubai Health unite to offer comprehensive support for couples and families, weaving together healthcare expertise and social services into a seamless foundation for family stability.
The threads that bind a family together require more than goodwill. They demand access to knowledge, healthcare guidance and social support at precisely the moments when families need them most. This understanding has prompted the Community Development Authority in Dubai and Dubai Health to sign a Memorandum of Understanding that brings together their complementary strengths in service of Emirati couples and families.
The partnership responds to a simple but profound principle: that family stability flourishes when health and social services work in concert rather than in isolation. Through this collaboration, couples preparing for marriage and families at different stages of formation will have access to an integrated support system that spans reproductive health awareness, specialised healthcare services, and tailored social guidance. The initiative encompasses preconception care, pregnancy support and postnatal services, each designed with the same rigorous attention to need.
The CDA will facilitate referrals from its social programmes to relevant healthcare services, while Dubai Health’s Fertility Center contributes its expertise in reproductive health, fertility, and maternal and child health. Together, they will develop joint awareness programmes, workshops and educational content tailored to families’ evolving needs. This represents more than administrative coordination; it signals a deliberate shift toward placing family wellbeing at the centre of government services.
Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, emphasised that stable families require foundations built on health and social awareness. “Building a stable family begins with providing the foundations for healthy family life, foremost among them health and social awareness, and access to timely support and guidance,” she said. The partnership advances the objectives of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme and the Dubai Weddings initiative, while translating the priorities of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 into tangible services.
Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health, reinforced the importance of coordinated effort. “We are committed to providing healthcare that responds to families’ needs at every stage of life through our integrated academic health system,” he said, noting that Dubai Health’s comprehensive approach aligns with this vision of seamless, accessible care.
The collaboration will benefit from the exchange of aggregated, de-identified data to monitor outcomes and measure impact, ensuring that services remain responsive to evolving family needs. As Dubai Health has demonstrated through its sophisticated digital health infrastructure, such data integration strengthens service quality and institutional effectiveness.
What it means for Abu Dhabi
This Dubai initiative reflects a broader commitment across the emirates to strengthen family stability as a cornerstone of social development. The integrated model of healthcare and social support pioneered through this partnership offers a framework that underscores the centrality of family wellness to community resilience. By aligning health services with social programmes, Dubai demonstrates how government entities can move beyond parallel service delivery toward comprehensive support systems that address families at every stage of their journey.
The partnership also signals confidence in the power of coordinated government action. As communities across the UAE continue to evolve and grow, the principle that families thrive when health and social services work in concert becomes increasingly vital. This collaboration contributes to the broader narrative of institutional excellence that characterises the healthcare and social development landscape throughout the emirates.
