Reem Hospital and Yas Clinic Khalifa City forge partnership in specialised medicine

Two of Abu Dhabi's leading healthcare providers have established a framework for collaboration spanning orthopedics, neuroscience and dermatology, with particular emphasis on regenerative medicine and cell therapy.

The exchange of expertise between healthcare institutions has long been recognised as a catalyst for clinical advancement. Reem Hospital and Yas Clinic Khalifa City have now formalised this principle through a Memorandum of Understanding signed during the Future Health Summit in Abu Dhabi, committing to a structured partnership that bridges their respective strengths across specialised medicine.

The collaboration encompasses three principal clinical disciplines: orthopedics, neuroscience, and dermatology, with a pronounced focus on regenerative medicine and the therapeutic possibilities of cell therapy. Beyond these clinical domains, the two institutions have committed to a comprehensive exchange of knowledge, including joint case discussions, the sharing of physician expertise, professional training initiatives, and the development of coordinated patient care pathways that will serve to enhance clinical continuity.

The scope of cooperation extends into research and innovation. Both organisations will assess potential clinical service models and specialised training opportunities within regenerative medicine and cell therapy, though any activities in these areas remain contingent upon the requisite regulatory approvals and separate agreements specific to each initiative.

Mubasher Maqbool, Chief Executive Officer at Yas Clinic Khalifa City, emphasised the collaborative dimension of modern healthcare advancement. “The future of healthcare depends on strong collaboration between providers, bringing together complementary expertise to advance specialised care and improve patient outcomes,” he noted, describing the partnership as an avenue for exploring clinical knowledge exchange, multidisciplinary collaboration and professional development.

Alaa Obeid, Chief Executive Officer at Reem Hospital, articulated a similar vision of structured partnership. “This collaboration gives us a structured way to combine expertise, exchange knowledge, and explore new approaches to specialised healthcare,” he said, adding that the partnership aims to identify opportunities that support clinical advancement and contribute to the continued development of high-quality medical services in Abu Dhabi.

What it means for Abu Dhabi

This partnership represents a meaningful deepening of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare ecosystem, where institutions of calibre work together to advance the quality of specialist care available to residents. The integration of physician expertise across orthopedics, neuroscience and dermatology, coupled with emerging work in regenerative medicine and cell therapy, positions Abu Dhabi at the forefront of medical innovation in the region.

The emphasis on professional development and clinical knowledge exchange signals a commitment to cultivating the next generation of healthcare professionals in the emirate. By establishing coordinated patient care pathways between two respected institutions, Abu Dhabi continues to strengthen the infrastructure necessary to deliver world-leading medical services to its population.
