SEHA CLINICS achieves landmark international endoscopy certification, first in MENA region
Part of PureHealth, SEHA CLINICS has become the first healthcare provider in the UAE and MENA region to secure American Accreditation Commission International certification for endoscopy services, reinforcing its commitment to delivering internationally benchmarked diagnostic care within the community.
SEHA CLINICS, Abu Dhabi’s largest primary care network, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first healthcare provider across the UAE and broader Middle East and North Africa region to receive American Accreditation Commission International (AACI) Endoscopy Services Certification. The recognition follows rigorous independent assessment and remains valid through 2029, affirming the organisation’s dedication to clinical excellence, patient safety and continuous improvement in endoscopy provision.
The certification encompasses endoscopy services at two diagnostic and screening centres: Al Zafaranah in Abu Dhabi and Oud Al Touba in Al Ain. During 2025, these facilities performed 1,511 endoscopy procedures, with a further 703 completed during the first half of 2026, collectively supporting early detection and management of gastrointestinal conditions across the region.
Strengthening community healthcare standards

The certification represents recognition of demonstrated compliance with AACI Clinical Excellence Standards for Endoscopy Services, which encompass rigorous requirements across clinical governance, patient safety, infection prevention and control, quality management and continuous quality improvement protocols. For patients, the accreditation provides assurance that diagnostic services meet internationally recognised benchmarks, reducing the necessity to seek specialist care elsewhere whilst enabling earlier clinical decision-making and improved health outcomes.
